Partnership providing a brighter future for families in Worcestershire
Teams from the Starting Well Partnership will be popping up at events throughout the summer holidays to offer advice, information and fun for all of the family.
Led by Herefordshire and Worcestershire Health and Care NHS Trust, the Partnership brings together professionals from the NHS, Barnardo’s, Action for Children, and Redditch Borough Council to support ‘parents to be’ and their children from birth through to 19 years.
The events provide an opportunity for families to meet their local Starting Well Team and find out more about the local support available to them.
Parents can access information supporting the health and wellbeing of all of the family, including child development and behaviour, oral health and the Change4Life campaign.
There will be a chance to learn about local parenting groups, workshops and volunteering opportunities, and for all of the family to take part in games and activities.
Louise Langston, Clinical Services Manager said “We are really excited to be able to attend community events once again and have lots of fun and educational activities planned throughout the holidays.
“Each event will involve staff from different districts including our School Health Nurses and Community Connectors, and provide families with an opportunity to find out more about their local team and discuss any worries or concerns they may have.”
Events such as 'Community Conversations' and 'Teddy Bear Picnics' are great opportunities for families to come together and socialise with others in their local area.
Sam Bower, Community Health Connector for Barnardo’s said, "The events have been a great way to reconnect with families that we have previously supported and meet new families in our local communities. The feedback so far has been really positive and families are really grateful to see us back out and about."
Formed in 2020, the partnership includes the Worcestershire Health Visiting Team, School Health Nurses, Community Health Connectors and volunteers who work alongside community teams to provide support to families in the local community.
Families are invited to follow their local team to stay up to date with events in their area:
